How to eat healthy when you are backpacking?

If you are finicky about what you eat and insist on cooking as much as possible, chances are you would like to do the same even when you are camping… But when camping, there are certain factors that you must keep in mind:

First, it is a strenuous activity, so you don’t want to be burdened with a lot of things to do in order to prepare your food. There are certain tips that will help you lessen the job at hand. Also, you need to eat healthy.

Secondly, what you will eat is very important. You will need energy and just because you’re backpacking doesn’t mean you need to eat like birds! There are many tricks and easy to prepare recipes that will give you quality dishes at a fraction of the hassle!

Thirdly, you have to decide what you want to eat. Whether you source it locally or you carry it with you, you have to find out and decide first!

And fourthly, cooking equipment – what to carry, and how much of an added burden will it be? Also it will eventually depend on what you wish to eat…
